Gel nail polish is beautiful and amazing; it can make your nails to look pretty and elegant. Not only that, but gel nail polish can last longer compared to the traditional ones. However, the removal process of gel polish is quite difficult than the usual polish. It’ll require patience due to a bit longer process.
So, how do you remove your nail polish quickly and safe? Well, you need to prepare a lot of acetone. And if you do it correctly, you’ll only need 30 minutes to have a clean, bare, and healthy nails.
- Gather The Necessary Materials
When removing your Coloressemipermanentes, you need the following materials:
- Five cotton balls cut in half
- Cut ten rectangles of aluminum foil with a size of 2×3.
Once you have gathered all the necessary materials, set them aside, and follow the next step.
- Remove the Seal
You may use a buffer to remove the seal of the gel nail polish. Rough up the surface and remove the seal of the topcoat. It is better to file down all the gel polishes to remove the gel with no issues. Though, it’ll vary depending on what brand of topcoat you’ve used. You may try to use them in both ways to check which style works best for you.
- Get Your Acetone
Soak the cotton balls that you cut in half in pure acetone. After soaking, place the cotton ball onto your nail and make sure that the whole nails are covered. You may also put lotion on your cuticles if you want additional protection against the acetone.
- Use the Foil
Use your rectangle foil to wrap them around your nails and fingers so that the acetone ball can stay securely onto the nails. Repeat the steps in two and three until ten fingers are covered. You may ask a friend to help them wrap it out for the remaining fingers.
- Make Use of the Heat
Using a heating pad can speed up the removal process. When acetone has contacted heat, it’ll soften the gel polish than merely soaking it. You may use the usual hot compress bag or a microwavable eye mask, then lay it down on the top of the foil.
- Keep the Foil for 15-20 Minutes
Try to remove the foil wraps after soaking it for a while. If the gel polish doesn’t soften or fall, it needs to dip a little bit longer. Consider adding more acetone and wrap it again for an additional 5-10 min.
- Remove the Foil Wraps
Slowly press the cotton ball when removing the foil. Keep pushing down the cotton and slide it back and forth as you remove the wrap. The gel polish will also fall off as you remove the wrap leaving no gel polish residues on the nails.
